After six days in Ao Nang, we took the ferry to Ko Phi Phi. The ferry trip itself was an experience, as was the bus to the jetty! We passed some of the amazing karst rock formations on the way. On arrival at Ton Sai bay we were met by a couple of guys from Palm Beach who took us on the 45 minute boat ride to the resort

Arriving at Palm Beach, Phi Phi Don

We were met on arrival by a warm welcome and a cold cocktail before they took us off to our wee bungalow by the beach. We didn't stray far from there in the next two days, making the most of the idyllic situation, doing a bit of snorkelling, playing bar games while guzzling frozen margaritas at happy hour and enjoying the fish.

Leaving Phi Phi in style
We decided to leave in style and hired a speedboat, which permitted us time to tour Phi Phi Leh island, which is spectacular to say the least. We took in Maya bay, where "The Beach" was filmed and Phi Leh bay where we had some awesome snorkelling. Lastly we visited Viking Cave which was interesting but Anne hated. At least we were amused by the self proclaimed "Monkey Man."
