After the most hair raising taxi trip of our lives from the Shangri La to Bangkok airport in about 8 minutes flat with a taxi driver who obviously felt he'd been good in this life and therefore, in his own special Buddhist way, had no fear about leaving it and making his entry to the next life, we had a longish wait in the airport and a good flight on Thai airways down to Krabi. It was bucketing down when we arrived but to our relief a representative of HotelThailand.com had turned up as promised to take us to our hotel at Ao Nang. 

We spent a few days enjoying the hotel and nearby beaches and took in some local sights such as chartering a long tail boat to take us to Chicken Island, as you can see below.
